Rustic industrial furniture is more prevalent today than it has been in years. This trend, though, seems to have gained solid footing and looks to be with us for the long haul. I am excited about this because these are pieces that complement most design schemes and provide great anchor pieces for nearly any room in your home. Design magazines and television shows make most of these pieces seem attractive, but choosing the right piece for your home is important. Be certain you’re choosing pieces that use the right materials (metal, stone, wood, natural textiles). Also be on the lookout for the details that make a piece charmingly rustic and industrial including texture, distressed finishes, metal hardware, exposed nail heads or screws, and reclaimed materials. Some of my favorite pieces include dining tables and storage lockers.
Industrial Metal Double Pedestal Dining Table

This Industrial Metal Double Pedestal Dining Table designed and crafted by Mortise & Tenon Handmade Furniture features cast iron bases, a heavy gauge sheet steel top, and a gun metal finish. While each piece is unique in its own way, they’ll customize the top to the size you’d like. This piece features many of the benchmarks of rustic industrial furniture. Mortise & Tenon has been producing incredible pieces like this for the past 25-plus years.
Factory Cart Coffee Table

While you’ll find reproductions of factory carts at many stores, having authentic pieces makes your home that much more special. Olde Good Things finds these old carts, cleans, refurbishes, and then finishes them. Of course, the cart you order will vary from the photo in appearance and size, but being a little flexible with those details will only enhance the piece in the end.
Vintage Multi-Drawer Wooden Storage Rolling Apothecary Distressed Cabinet

Pottery Barn mass produced reproduction apothecary cabinets years ago as we all learned on “Friends”. However, having an authentic apothecary cabinet is much more rewarding and will provide that authenticity to your room. One of our favorites is this vintage apothecary cabinet offered by 1stdibs. Dating to the 20th century and made of wood and metal, this cabinet is on wheels and provides the opportunity for both form and function.
Articulating Wall Lamp Light

When it comes to electrical, I am definitely okay with reproductions. You spent a lot of time putting your home together, no need to burn it down! LongMadeCo. on Etsy really has a knack for creating rustic industrial lights that look as though they’re 100 years old. These lights are the perfect accent to any room with a rustic industrial style influence. The best part is that they’re reasonably priced and they’re handmade. Our favorite here features an Edison bulb, fabric lamp wire and steel body pieces.
Vintage Schoolroom Chair

Used as an accent chair in nearly any room or a set of chairs around a table, a vintage schoolroom chair evokes not only nostalgia and comfort, but also a sense of whimsy and fun. Ranging in styles from traditional to mid-century modern, you’ll find a vintage schoolroom chair that will fit right into your home. Find the one pictured here as well as many other options at Chairish.
